Soderbergh Hires Some More Dudes for His Bachelorette Party, and More...

- True Blood's Joe Manganiello and White Collar's Matt Bomer will join Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, and Matthew McConaughey in Steven Soderbergh's male stripper drama, Magic Mike. Expect to hear a lot about this one come next awards season--if not for its merits then because Bruce Vilanch is really going to enjoy writing him some male stripper jokes.

- Brian De Palma has signed on to direct The Key Man, a thriller about a single father targeted by government agents because his body contains national secrets. Such are the dangers of eating a Nicolas Cage MacGuffin.

- M.C. Gainey, Charisma Carpenter, and Danny Trejo are among those whose career is at a point where a SyFy original movie called Haunted High is something they'll agree to do. Presumably John Rhys-Davies and/or an enormous fish/reptile will also show up at some point.

- And here's what's supposedly a synopsis for Zack Snyder's Man of Steel:

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Cavill) is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone's imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question - Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as "Superman," not only to shine as the world's last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.

That tells me nothing.
