Here's Ridley Scott's 'Prometheus', and More...

July 21, 2011

- Here's a first look at Ridley Scott's Alien sort-of-prequel, Prometheus. Doesn't really seem like a lot out of context, but it works if you imagine that the context is a lavish sci-fi-tinged production of Singin' in the Rain.

- Zack Snyder's Superman film, The Man of Steel, has been pushed back from December 2012 to June 14, 2013, placing it six months closer to the next Superman reboot.

- Annette Bening will play Kristen Wiig's mother in Imogene. The plot involves Wiig, a playwright, staging a suicide attempt to win back her ex-boyfriend; that plan backfires, and she's sent to live with her gambling-addicted mom instead. Whoops.

- Though he has over half-a-dozen projects in-development, it looks like David O. Russell is going to go with The Silver Linings Playbook first. He likely casting the lovely Jennifer Lawrence to play a neighbor involved with a depressed, formerly-institutionalized Mark Wahlberg. And you thought mind-shattering sadness only led to drinking until you cry asleep.
