Aronofsky Might Direct 'Wolverine 2' Now?

August 31, 2010

It seems last week's news that Wolverine 2's director's chair was down to David Slade and Robert Schwentke might not have been entirely true. Deadline has updated that tale, saying Slade is indeed the frontrunner but adding that Darren Aronofsky is now also a possibility. It seems unlikely, but you might recall Aronofsky really wanted to do Batman back Before Nolan, so we know he's not necessarily opposed to the superhero genre--plus, he's already earned Jackman-favor from The Fountain. So let's root for that to happen. There's nothing I want more than for children to exit showings of Wolverine 2 sullen and confused.
