Mar 27 2009Here Comes 'Confessions of a Dangerous Houdini'

Being the world's most famous escape artist and the name most synonymous with magic is alright, but what if Harry Houdini, like Chuck Barris and Bruce Lee, was also secretly (fictionally) AN AWESOME SPY, and maybe also a bit like Indiana Jones and Sherlock Holmes melded into one adventuring, crime-solving superman? That would make a great movie franchise is what!:

Summit Entertainment has unlocked "The Secret Life of Houdini: The Making of America's First Superhero," picking up feature-film rights to the biography by William Kalush and Larry Sloman.

The comprehensive tome, published in 2006 by Atria Books, became known for insinuating that Harry Houdini acted as a spy for Britain and was asked to be an adviser to Czar Nicholas II's court in prerevolutionary Russia. The book also portrayed the master escape artist and magician as a debunker of con artists who pretended to be spiritualists, leading to the controversial theory that Houdini’s death was caused by the spiritual movement as payback.

The studio is not looking to make a biopic but rather an action thriller featuring a character who is part Indiana Jones and part Sherlock Holmes. Summit hopes to cash in on worldwide recognition of Houdini’s name while potentially launching a franchise.

Oh brother. I can see how this is going. "No, don't shoot him! Handcuff him, put him in a straitjacket, stuff him in a sack, then seal him in a milk can full of water! Then we'll leave him alone and he should be dead by the time we get back." Time to test the limits of how many times Nicolas Cage get captured and subsequently, miraculously escape in a two hour period.

Cole Hauser as Houdini?

If Mini-Me was would be instant comedy gold.

Adding to the ever-growing list of Jewish action heroes.

yeah this book sucked. it wasn't at all convincing that Houdini was some kinda super-secret spy. why can't they make a movie about the man that isn't made-up bullshit?

Houdini,a very mysterious guy.He took most of his amazing secrets with him into his grave! It's not even fun anymore!

An introvert perfectionist!

I'm not talking about scandals or something. But it's very seldom that people can keep secrets! Most people have their price or want to benefit in another way! Houdini knew that!

After the movie Dead Calm, anything is fair game. That movie set the bar for people who do exactly what they should not do and deserve to die for being so stupid but don't. Unless you have found a way to punish the people responsible for making Dead Calm, don't come crying to me.

It's a nice show. I heard that there is an interesting place for all hot girls and guys, seems it is named: ,if u want to find some fun or lovers, please- have a try !!!
