Oct 21 2009 New 'Star Trek' Getting Shatnier?
Going against all good sense that would logically keep William Shatner from reprising the role of Kirk in a new Star Trek sequel, director J.J. Abrams, speaking to reporters in Australia, revealed that he's still trying to figure out a way to pander to fans by working out some kind of time travel wormhole bullshit to get Shatner in this thing:
"It was a foregone conclusion we wanted him in the [first] movie," Abrams explained."The problem was his character died on screen in one of his Trek films and because we decided, very early on, that we wanted to adhere to Trek canon as best we could ... the required machinations to get Shatner into the movie would have been very difficult to do given the story we wanted to tell and also to give him the kind of part that he would be happy with.
"I feel like the first movie did some of the heavy lifting that needed to be done in order to free us to continue going forward. Maybe there's less of a burden and there's going to be more opportunity to work with [Shatner]."
Maybe have Data chauffeur Shatner from the afterlife to the past on an intergalactic humpback? Or does that make too much sense for the Star Trek universe? OK, just something with Q then.
Jul 6 2009 Another '80s TV Series Remembered, Immediately Put on Film Fast-Track
Guess what. There's this now:
"T.J. Hooker" is headed for the bigscreen as an action comedy with David Foster, Ryan Heppe and series creator Rick Husky producing.Chuck Russell ("The Scorpion King," "The Mask") is in talks to direct. The writing team of Brent Maddock and S.S. Wilson will script the story, which focuses on the relationship between the title character and his father.
No actors have been cast yet for the feature.
The TV series, produced by Aaron Spelling, debuted in 1982 on ABC and ran for five seasons, the last on CBS. William Shatner starred as a no-nonsense patrol sergeant, with Adrian Zmed, Heather Locklear, Richard Herd and James Darren as co-stars.
The director of The Scorpion King and the writers of multiple Tremors films. I guess the director of The Scorpion King 2: Rise of a Warrior and the writers of the other Tremors films are busy with that remake of Hardball. (I think I'm joking about a remake of Hardball.)
Even the promise of William Shatner going on talk shows and going on crazy rants about how he'll always be the genuine T.J. Hooker is not enough to warrant the existence of this.
Nov 25 2008 James T. Kirk Deems New Enterprise 'Shipshape'
William Shatner is claiming he's being asked his opinion on the new Star Trek Enterprise design. That's not true, but let's hear it anyway:

Oct 28 2008 New Kirk/Spock Shot Recreates Old Kirk/Spock Shot, but More Boring
Empire Magazine has released an early look at their upcoming Star Trek cover, wherein they recreate an "iconic" shot of Leonard Nimoy and William Shatner using the new actors playing Spock and Kirk. I have no idea why they wouldn't recreate the classic shot of Spock standing awkwardly in a winter jacket while Kirk, dressed as Bob Villa dressed as Indiana Jones, accosts him in front of a fake tree. Such a classic, iconic shot.

Jul 11 2007 Star Trek XI: Nimoy In, Shatner Out
In this clip, William Shatner explains that Leonard Nimoy has seen the script and will be in Star Trek XI, with the former Vulcan claiming there's no part for Shatner. I suppose it's only fair, considering Shatner has an Emmy, a Golden Globe, and a steady gig at Priceline, while Nimoy has this.
