Jul 23 2009 'TR2N' Title Updated to Reflect Tron's Legacy

My "TR2N" tattoo has been rendered nearly meaningless! In an announcement at Comic Con, Disney has revealed that the long-awaited sequel to Tron has had a name change. Coming Soon is reporting the original, confusing title, TR2N, has been replaced with the easier-to-pronounce Tron Legacy.

I guess that's fine, but I hope they at least considered my suggestions. Come on, guys, inTRONet! Such a good Tron 2 title.

Jul 25 2008 This is Not the 'Tron 2' Title. It Can't Be. Seriously?

Yesterday, a surprise clip shown at Comic Con gave attendees their first glimpse at Disney's sequel to Tron. Besides revealing that Jeff Bridges was willing to reduce himself to reprising his role, the most insanely stupid title ever was unveiled.

Can you guess which of these ridiculous options it is? (Hint: it's far more ludicrous than the Fast and Furious title, including all the fakes ones I made up.)

- Tron 2.0
- Trn
- 2ron
- Tr2n
- 2222 2 (Tron 2)
- Tron.blogspot.com
- YouTron
- Tron's MySpace Account
- 2 Tron 2 Tronious
- inTRONet
- Tron. You know, Jeff Bridges, Bruce Boxleitner... Tron! Ask your dad or something.

Sep 11 2007 Tron Sequel: Tron Guy Speaks Out

tron-guy-remake.jpg Hey, guys! Tron Guy Jay Maynard here, and I just found out that Disney and commercial director Joseph Kosinski have plans to film a "next chapter" to 1982's landmark film, Tron. Dear reader, I've never been more torn in my life.

On the one hand, it's utter sacrilege to even consider touching the masterpiece that is the "Electronic Gladiator," Steven Lisberger's 1982 classic, Tron. Kevin Flynn's journey through a computer, forced to battle the very programs he created (I can understand this, as a computer programmer) is so masterful in its epic battles, groundbreaking special effects, and engrossing, realistic story that I can't imagine what could be added to this science-fiction keystone. It would be like adding paint to the Mona Lisa! Though I guess painting on a luminescent helmet and energy disk might add something...

UPDATE: What appears to be the actual Tron Guy has added some words in the comments section, noting that he didn't write this entry, and that his true feelings are here (though not that dissimilar). There may be some truth to this.
