Jul 20 2009 In 1987, Man Discovered the Strangest Way to End a Film, and This Is It

worst-ending-ever-tn.jpg

Student Confidential should be classified alongside Planet of the Apes, The Sixth Sense, The Usual Suspects, and other films known for their shocking surprise endings, because there are no possible scenarios that could have occurred in this movie that would have resulted in this ending being either expected or in any way acceptable.

My friend Chris best explained the scene: "They were both trying to convey something wordlessly, but whatever that was would change second to second."

Dec 13 2007 Technology Retroactively Ruins 'Lost in Translation'

lost-in-translation-whisper.jpg

Want to ruin one of the most beautiful and poignant moments in recent cinematic history? I guess this is relatively old, but I've just been made aware that someone has used digital stuff to make the whispered final moment of Lost in Translation somewhat decipherable. It's under the cut, for those who want questionable closure.

I'm a bit dubious if this is really what he's saying; it seems kind of suspect that his final line is, "Don't forget to see The Dark Knight, in theaters July 18th."

Oct 2 2007 New 'Hulk' Script Involves Bottle Factory

hulk-outline.jpg

Someone at IESB nabbed a copy of the new Edward Norton Hulk script, which they're calling an "incredible ride" (literally, hopes Six Flags) and have posted a long synopsis here. Luckily, for those of us who want bullet points, /Film was kind enough to provide that as follows:

* Hulk appears in the first sequence in the film. No waiting around for the green monster’s appearance.

* Bruce Banner is hiding out in Brazil in search for exotic flowers that he believes will help destroy the gamma radiation in his blood.

* While working at a bottle factory, Bruce is cut and a drop of his blood falls into one of the bottles. A woman in Minnesota drinks the juice and almost dies. The gamma is detected in her blood and this alerts the military.

* Bruce escapes to the States, meets up with Betty Ross, and they both leave for New York City to find Dr. Sterns, who has developed an “anti-dote” for Bruce. But they are caught by General Ross and the military.

* A soldier named Blonsky who was crushed by Hulk, takes a super gamma serum developed from Bruce’s Blood and transforms into Abomination.

* Hulk must save the city from Abomination.

For some reason, amidst all the gamma radiation, crazy transformations, and superhuman powers, I find the bottle factory part of this the most perplexing. How does the Hulk end up in a bottle factory? Is this some kind of Laverne & Shirley crossover?

And a drop of his blood ends up in a bottle? Can this actually happen in a bottling plant? If so, I'm never drinking from a bottle again. I assumed there were precautions against this. This script would have me believe they say, "Well, it's just a drop. As long he's not the Hulk or Magic Johnson, it should be fine," and send it out.

Sep 28 2007 'Saw IV' Looking Good for Brief Enthusiasts

IMAGE REMOVED

Here we see a typical Japanese dating ritual, in which the male strips to his underwear, locks himself in a glass box, and begs for the female to shit on him, humiliate him, and leave him filthy on the street. In exchange for this, she provides him with a pair of used panties in a jar and they're later married. I have no idea why this scene is in Saw IV, but there it is.

Look below the cut for another new shot from Saw IV that may ruin a crucial plot point.

Sep 20 2007 'Sex and the City' Spoilers: BECAUSE YOU CAN'T WAIT!!!

sex-and-the-city-movie.jpg above: Chris Noth (Mr. Big) poses with Sarah Jessica Parker (a horse).

May 30, 2008, after years of anxious waiting, audiences will be treated to what may be the most anticipated movie in history, Sex and the City. On that date, the television show that took the artfulness of Citizen Kane and added shopping and screwing will finally reach theaters, from which it will be drastically edited and shown on TBS.

But if you're like me, YOU CAN'T F'ING WAIT THAT LONG! What is going on with with Mr. Big and Carrie??? Why don't you let me tell you! Here are some hot details, which may spoil the plot but not nearly as much as the show has spoiled society:

- The long-infertile Charlotte (Kristin Davis) is now pregnant! In a scene shot Thursday morning on the corner of 70th & Lexington at a restaurant called Luni, Charlotte and Big are coming out of the restaurant when Charlotte's water breaks. She tries to hail a cab, when Big throws her in his car.

- Big and Carrie are moving in together and they are apartment-hunting in NYC.

- Carrie and the girls discuss men and sex through a series of poorly-written, unrealistic conversations.*

- Carrie discovers that the name "Big" applies less to his sexual organ, more to his enormous collection of Big memorabilia, in a scene where Mr. Big demands, "F*** me on this giant toy keyboard, in front of the innocent eyes of the fortune telling machine!"*

- Samantha (Kim Cattrall) is revealed to be an animate mannequin.* Also, an enormous slut.

- In the final scene, it's revealed that the entire series was taking place in the mind of an autistic child. A really shallow, slutty autistic child.*

*unconfirmed.

'Sex and the City' Is Back [OMG!]

Sep 18 2007 Indiana Jones Secrecy Foiled by Tyler Nelson

indiana-jones-crucifix.jpg Typically, prior to getting on set, an extra on a film will sign a non-disclosure agreement, which basically means that the extra isn't allowed to go around telling people which shocking new sport Air Bud is good at this go-round unless he wants a slew of lawyers on his back. That's why it's surprising that, in a now-blocked article in the Edmond Sun, extra Tyler Nelson revealed facts about Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of he Crystal Skull that Lucas and Spielberg wanted to hold back until the action figures--like who Cate Blanchett plays!

Full article, as transcribed by AICN, under the cut.

Thanks to my super-secret connections, I've heard some reports of what was shot on The Dark Knight this weekend, and it's some fairly heavy stuff. How heavy? Fatty Arbuckle heavy. Heavy enough that I'm forced to hide it behind a cut to keep the spoiler-hating community from destroying me.

Aug 9 2007 Cloverfield Call Sheet May Reveal Ending

media-removed.jpg

Even though no one knows what it's really about, or even what the name is, the final scene to J.J. Abrams' top secret Cloverfield (or whatever you want to call it) giant monster project may have been leaked. A call sheet collected from the final day of shooting, cleverly hidden under the codename "Cheese," has revealed that... (hidden under cut so people won't say I spoiled something, though it's really not much of a spoiler.)

EDIT: Got a letter from Paramount asking us to take down the call sheet. Which sucks, but at least confirms that it was real.
