Sep 20 2007 'Southland Tales' Trailer Confuses Me

I'm a self-confessed idiot who needed parts of Shrek explained to him (that donkey is basically racist, right?), so it comes as no surprise that the trailer to Donnie Darko director Richard Kelly's latest, Southland Tales, makes nearly no sense to me. I've watched it four times now and the only thing I can say with any certainty is that The Rock does a lot of terrible fidgety/scared moments and that I should own a Pixies album. It seems like one of those movies where it will end up being a post-modern thing inside a thing inside a thing, but I have no idea what any of those things are.

Sep 12 2007 Southland Tales Poster is Busy, Patriotic?

southland-tales-poster.jpg The poster to Donnie Darko writer/director Richard Kelly's sophomore effort, Southland Tales, is really cluttered with a bunch of crap, and might be meant to look sort of like the American flag, but only vaguely does. But with over two years of delays for re-editing and the entire cast of The Rundown at your disposal, how could you go wrong?*

*By making a movie so bad it needed two years to be re-edited. Also, using The Rundown as a casting mold was probably a bad idea. Involving Night Court's John Larroquette probably isn't helping either.
