Jul 27 2009 'Solomon Kane' Poster: Despite Appearances, Not Van Helsing

Continuing the recent trend of every action hero looking like Tom Petty/WWE's The Undertaker, here's the new poster for Solomon Kane.

It was probably a good idea hiding James Purefoy's face: I now so strongly regard him as "guy in that really obnoxious ad campaign for The Philanthropist" that I don't know how I'll ever buy him in the role of a brooding Puritan. (He's a brooding Puritan, right? I'm just assuming.)

Nov 26 2007 AM Poster Post: 'Solomon Kane' Teaser

I'm not sure if this is meant to look more like a Highlander sequel, a time-traveling version of The Punisher, or the muddled, last-minute Halloween costume, "Elvira Zorro," but I do like that they've lit it with a single spotlight, letting us know up front that this will have the same production values as a high school play.
