Nov 5 2007 'American Gangster' Wins Weekend Over Talking Bees

american-gangster-box-offic.jpg

1. American Gangster - With the continuing popularity of Scarface and patriotism t-shirts, it should come as no surprise a title that combines the two would pull in $46.3 million.

2. Bee Movie - The animated picture pulled in a respectable $39.1 million thanks to scientists cleverly replacing Jerry Seinfeld with a Bee Movie promotional android.

3. Saw IV - Continuing on its way to becoming the biggest snuff film to date with another $11 million.

4. Dan in Real Life - The hope of seeing a melancholy stare forced against a plate of pancakes again proved too appealing to resist, earning $8.1 million

5. 30 Days of Night - The vampire film nabbed another $4 million as viewers played "search for Josh Hartnett's pinhole eyes."

Oct 29 2007 Weekend Box Office Gets Sawed (IV)

saw-iv-box-office.jpg

1. Saw IV - Taking in over $32.1 million, Saw successfully continues its publicly-funded struggle to be The Land Before Time of horror movies.

2. Dan in Real Life - The nation showed they'd rather pay $12.1 million to see Dan in Real Life than continue their own pitiful real lives.

3. 30 Days of Night - A confused audience paid $6.7 million in the hopes of continuing the story began in 40 Days and 40 Nights

4. The Game Plan - At this point, the ability for this to pull in another $6.2 million in its fifth week has to be due to word-of-mouth or repeat viewings, both equally terrifying options.

5. Tyler Perry's Why Did I get Married? - With earnings over $5.7 million, see above comments, but switch "fifth week" to "third week," and scatter the possessive Tyler Perry throughout.

My internet thing is being ridiculous today. Bear with me.

Sep 28 2007 'Saw IV' Looking Good for Brief Enthusiasts

IMAGE REMOVED

Here we see a typical Japanese dating ritual, in which the male strips to his underwear, locks himself in a glass box, and begs for the female to shit on him, humiliate him, and leave him filthy on the street. In exchange for this, she provides him with a pair of used panties in a jar and they're later married. I have no idea why this scene is in Saw IV, but there it is.

Look below the cut for another new shot from Saw IV that may ruin a crucial plot point.

Sep 13 2007 Saw IV 'Autopsy' Trailer is Disgusting

At some point the grossness level of these trailers for Saw IV started, like the US space program, competing against themselves in a game no one is watching anymore. This one features ol' Jigsaw getting all sorts of organs and things yanked out of him in a graphic autopsy. I can't wait for the next ad, where I hear someone fills Jigsaw's now-empty body cavities with vomit, blends the whole thing, feeds it to a midget, cuts open a giant, stuffs the midget inside the giant, then walks the giant/midget cocktail into a bear trap, all while a man with his eyes gouged out eats a bowl of human feces and baby heads. It's totally awesome.

I think you have to do YouTube's age-proving thing before watching this, to prove you're of age to throw up.

Sep 4 2007 Saw IV Teaser Trailer

If you're excited about the newest chapter in the Saw saga (Saw-ga?), man, I don't know what to tell you. Well, here's the latest brick to beat yourself in the face with: the Saw IV trailer. And if you're such a fan, tell me this: has the series always used a soundtrack that sounds like "Live and Let Die" or is that something new to this one?

Aug 16 2007 New Shot From Saw IV is Gross

Here's a new shot from Saw IV, the latest entry to the rapidly declining series. I really have no idea why they keep making these. Oh wait, yeah I do:

Producer: I need more money. Could we make another Saw?
Writer: Well, I have absolutely no ideas for a plot, as I think was pretty evident with Saw III.
Producer: Right, but could you think of a few more ways to trap and kill people?
Writer: Oh, definitely. I have one in mind already.
Producer: Is it the one with the spikes in the head?
Writer: Yeah.
Producer: That's a really good one.
