Man, how did Creed never use this as an album cover? Don't get me wrong--a poorly computer-generated clay man bursting out of the ground is super awesome and all--but I think an angel with a glistening, photoshopped uzi would have really captured the band's mixture of ridiculous religious imagery and confused, juvenile notions of what's cool.

Aug 3 2009 'Priest' First Look: Paul Bettany with a Cross on His Head
Next year, Paul Bettany will continue his playing religious figures streak with Priest, the upcoming adaptation of a Korean comic that's apparently about some sort of priest character, and the official site has released the first image of the pious hero. So now we know what the co-star of Wimbledon looks like with a cross stenciled across his forehead. Now I just need to see how he'd look with tribal symbols wrapped around his arm and a sun on his lower back and my "Tattoos To See on Paul Bettany" list will be complete.

Here's the trailer for Inkheart, a movie in which Brendan Fraser's voice has the ability to bring literary characters to life, possibly because his is the only character without an English accent. Hey, B.F., could you pretend you're putting some kind of effort into this? I know you've been coasting for a while on goofy shouting, appearing clueless, and running from a green screen, but come on. I've been waiting 15 years for you to blow your G.D. nose. Could you at least do that?

Real-life couple Paul Bettany and Jennifer Connelly will be playing Charles and Emma Darwin in Creation, a biopic based on the book Annie's Box. From THR:
Bettany will play the British father of evolutionary theory, and Connelly will play his wife, Emma, in the big-screen take on the life of the controversial "On the Origin of Species" author.Amiel's film portrays Darwin as a man torn between his love for his deeply religious wife and his own growing belief in a world where God has no place. The scientist finds himself caught in a struggle between faith and reason, love and truth.
This film is going to be so adorable with these two--like looking at a gossip magazine, but with Bettany wearing a giant beard. They should have a baby or two to promote it. Except, wait a minute, wasn't this already happening?
