Jul 1 2008 Nicolas Cage Is So 'Bangkok Dangerous' It Makes Me Thirsty
Sorry for the lack of posts over the last 24-hours. Things went wrong! I will make it up to you. With Nicolas Cage. So here's a new clip from his latest stab at long-haired action stardom, Bangkok Dangerous. It's not as mind blowing as the last clip, where he chops off a guy's hand with an outboard motor then shoots him with his own gun, but it does have a pretty outstanding setting, putting the action in the one place you've always wanted to see a gun fight but never have: Poland Springs' darkroom?
Jun 18 2008 New 'Bangkok Dangerous' Clip May Be a Parody of Nic Cage Action Movies
In this clip from Bangkok Dangeous, the following things are somehow all contained within a minute of footage:
- Hot girls ride a boat with someone who appears to be Asia's answer to Hunter S. Thompson.
- A high-speed boat chase between said man (the girls are now gone somehow) and Nicolas Cage.
- Nicolas Cage dodging bullets with only the slightest of shoulder shifts, performed long after the bullet would have hit him.
- Nicolas Cage hijacking a motorcycle in less than a second, riding it a short distance, then jumping back onto another boat.
- Nicolas Cage using an outboard motor as a weapon--by which I mean physically lifting it out of the water and sawing off a man's gun-wielding hand.
- Then he pries the gun out of that guy's lifeless hand and shoots him! Several times!! With his own gun!!! (In case you didn't catch that.)
In short, it needs to be watched several times to be fully appreciated. My only complaint is that Cage didn't slap the guy with his disembodied hand before shooting him.

Apr 2 2008 'Bangkok Dangerous' Trailer: Another Nic Cage Talkie!
Nicolas Cage: acting's equivalent to being deaf and dumb. Or so it would seem from the trailer to Bangkok Dangeros. The Pangs have recreated their 2000 Thai deaf/mute hitman redemption story for American audiences, only all the deaf/mute part has been exchanged for the intense, dumbfounded looks and verbal quips of Nicolas Cage. Not only that, it looks like the visually arresting quality of the original has been downplayed as well, leaving us with just another bland chronicle of Nic Cage's stringy, artificial hair--this time with more guns. I don't know if it's worse that this is how other nations feel America has to be pandered to or that they're probably right.
