May 20 2008 David Lynch Puts Some Still Warm Panties in His Mouth

As much as I try to keep abreast of developments from big-name directors, sometimes, despite my best efforts, things slip between the cracks. I missed that Frank Darabont will be directing Law Abiding Citizen with Gerard Butler in the lead; that Spielberg plans to return attention to his long-rumored Abraham Lincoln biopic once he finished work on Tintin; oh, and that David Lynch put a pair of a fan's still "very warm" panties in his mouth.

I find out the very day Lynch releases a video monologue complaining about the iPhone, but somehow no one thinks to send me the one where he shoves a girl's unmentionables in his mouth--even when it's been around long enough to be re-mixed with Twin Peaks music. (IT HAS.) Thanks for nothing, internet denizens.

Sep 24 2007 Sally Field Playing Mary F'in Todd Lincoln

Despite no formal release to the Hollywood trade papers, Newsweek is reporting Sally Field will play Mary Todd Lincoln in Steven Spielberg's biopic of the late president, who is being played by Liam Neeson. If you've ever seen a picture of the first lady, you know this casting is being more than generous in the looks department, though apparently the Ghost of Lincoln is saying, "I always pictured myself with more of a Penelope Cruz type. Man, those lips alone could have melted the chains of oppression I found so vehemently to break. Speaking of which: how about Halle Berry? My god, have you seen Swordfish? So-so flick, but that stripping scene had the steam spewin' out of this man's stovepipe hat, lemme tell ya."

The former-president's specter went on to describe Queen Latifah as "a whole lotta woman, but I'd give every inch the time it deserved."
