Nov 11 2009 'Clash of the Titans' Trailer: This Sweet Music Makes Me Think Something Awesome Should Be Happening!

clash-of-the-titans-teaser.jpg

Imagine if Hercules: The Legendary Journeys had just a few thousand more dollars in its budget. How many extra eight or nine hours Kevin Sorbo could have afforded to spend in the gym; how many tens of more extras could have been employed; how much slightly more realistic the giant CGI scorpions might have appeared; how they could have maybe got Liam Neeson to do a brief cameo to slam his fist on something. Wouldn't that have been pretty mediocre?

Imagine no longer! That Sliders parallel universe is now:

Oct 23 2009 Welp, Here They Are: The A-Team

a-team-group.jpg

So will every movie adaptation of a '70s/'80s campy action show take place in the same high-contrast, extremely overexposed world as Charlie's Angels? I'm fine with that; I only worry I may be blind by the time we get to Magnum P.I.

Oct 5 2009 Liam Neeson Equips Zeus Armor; +5 Defense

clash-of-titans-neeson-zeus.jpg

The first photos of Liam Neeson as Zeus in Clash of the Titans have shown up in Entertainment Weekly. I was a bit skeptical of the amount of t-shirt I was seeing in other costumes, but in this shot, I have to say, I'm pretty impressed by the degree of authenticity here. That's an authentic Asian fan being waved by an actual Asian woman subservient to Liam Neeson! THAT'S authenticity! Even Schindler's List just used a box fan between takes.

Oct 1 2009 Here Is Your Depressed 'A-Team' Team

a-team-cast.jpg

Coming Soon has posted the first look at "Rampage" Jackson, Liam Neeson, Sharlto Copley, and Bradley Cooper on the set of The A-Team.

Thank god director Joe Carnahan appears to have included at least one scene where Baracus suddenly gets really nihilistic, sitting wherever he can and muttering how "it doesn't even fucking matter" for twenty minutes while the rest of the team awkwardly tries to console him. Those were always my favorite episodes of the show.

Jul 1 2009 'Five Minutes of Heaven' Looks Nearly as Good as 'Rotate the Bottle'

five-minutes-of-heaven-poster.jpg

I don't actually know what Five Minutes of Heaven movie is about, but my keen observation and logic tells me it's about Liam Neeson and James Nesbitt facing the fact that they once got drunk at a high school party and ended up making out in a closet for a few minutes, and then the rest of the film is basically Taken. Even if that's not the plot, in this case, I'm fine with being wrong.

Jun 9 2009 Liam Neeson's on the Jazz

Qui-Gon Jinn really enjoys when a scheme works outs! Variety is reporting Liam Neeson is in talks to put a cigar in his mouth and be John "Hannibal" Smith in Joe Carnahan's A-Team film, while The Hangover's Bradley Cooper may be playing "Faceman":

Liam Neeson is in negotiations with 20th Century Fox to star in its long-gestating bigscreen adaptation of "The A-Team" as Col. John "Hannibal" Smith. Bradley Cooper is in early talks to play Lt. Templeton "Faceman" Peck in the Joe Carnahan-directed pic based on the 1980s TV series.

Production begins in late August for a June 11, 2010, release.

Ridley Scott is producing with Jules Daly and series creator Stephen J. Cannell, with Tony Scott exec producing through Scott Free. Carnahan and Brian Bloom polished a script by Skip Woods, whose recent script credits include "G.I. Joe: The Rise of the Cobra" and "Wolverine."

Oh, good, the writer of Wolverine and G.I. Joe. That has to be a solid script then.

As you can see in the original television intro, now the only main roles left to fill are "Howling Mad" Murdock, B.A. Baracus, and constant crashing and explosions.

Apr 9 2009 Fiennes and Neeson are Some Clashing Titans

fiennes-neeson.jpg

Something seems to be keeping Schindler's List 2 from ever getting off the ground, but no fears, everyone, we're still going to get to see the acting forces of Ralph Fiennes and Liam Neeson merged once more. The two are set to play Hades and Zeus, respectively, in Louis Letterier's Clash of the Titans:

LONDON -- Ralph Fiennes is in advanced negotiations to star as Hades, the lord of the underworld, in helmer Louis Leterrier's "Clash of the Titans" for Warner Bros.

Liam Neeson is set to co-star as Zeus in the reimagining of the Greek myth of Perseus.

Fiennes would join a cast that already includes, in addition to Neeson, Gemma Arterton, Mads Mikkelsen, Alexa Davalos and Sam Worthington in the reimagining of the Greek myth of Perseus.

I really hope there's a scene where Neeson and Fienes stand side by side and explain who they are, because otherwise my mom is definitely going to assume they're the same character. She'll call I'll have to spend a minimum of ten minutes explaining why "the handsome man from that Christmas love story" kept changing beards.
