Sep 29 2009 Method Discovered To Make 'Marmaduke' Movie Worse
Christ, the dogs are going to talk, too?
To date, only Judy Greer had been mentioned to play Debbie Winslow in the movie, while Lee Pace from "Pushing Daisies" is playing Phil Winslow, but a small throwaway piece in Variety about Anjelah Johnson joining the cast, mentioned some of the voice cast and with a little more searching around, we found a very long list of those involved with providing voices for various animated characters in the movie, none of whom we know anything about except for their names:Amanda Seyfried voices "Mazie," Jeremy Piven is "Bosco," Ron Perlman plays "Chupadogra," Christopher Mintz-Plasse (aka "McLovin") is "Guiseppe," while Black Eyed Peas singer Stacy "Fergie" Ferguson is "Jezebel." Steve Coogan voices "Raisin," George Lopez is "Carlos" and Damon Wayans Jr. provides the voice for "Thunder."
AND Fergie is a voice? Does this mean there's also an auto-tuned dog? You would think any attempt at a Marmaduke movie would start at the bottom of dignity's well, but it turns out there was a little lower to drop.
Though, I have to admit, back in the '80s, Fergie was pretty good at playing the victim of clown murder:

Jun 25 2008 'RocknRolla' Trailer is Snatch-a-Lock-Stock-Tastic
Empire has the debut of the trailer for Guy Ritchie's RocknRolla, starring that fellow from The Wire, the guy from Cupid, the considerate dead boyfriend of P.S. I Love you, Ludacris, and more! If you can imagine a live-action version of Grand Theft Auto IV but with slightly more-varied accents, it sort of looks like that. Or if you've seen any of Guy Ritchie's films besides the one with his sinewy wife, it's exactly like that.
See the trailer here. All comments regarding it must begin with "I liked it more when it was called..."
Oct 4 2007 Some Other Crap That Happened...
- Jay Leno is threatening to remain on television beyond his 2009 Tonight Show resignation by signing a deal with another network, thus preserving our ever-growing national catalog of mildly amusing newspaper misprints. [NY Post]
- ABC has contracted Veronica Mars writer (not Matchbox 20 moron) Rob Thomas to resurrect the short-lived sitcom Cupid. With Entourage and male-pattern baldness in full swing, Jeremy Piven won't be reprising his role, meaning it will make even less sense that I still refer to him as "Cupid." [Variety]
- Eddie Murphy and director Brian Robbins (AKA tough guy from Head of the Class) are planning to team up for A Thousand Words, about a man who only has 1,000 words left to speak before he dies. The two previously teamed up for Norbit, making it apparent Robbins and Murphy are angels of a wrathful god punishing us for our sins. [Variety]
- Vin Diesel as the Terminator? Sure. Why the f*** not. [AICN]
- Rush Hour director Brett Ratner is taking over as director on the Escape from New York remake. Do you hear the words comin' out of my mouth? They're sorrowful. [IESB]
