Nov 17 2009 'Crazy Heart' Trailer: God, Jeff Bridges' Heart is So Crazy
Don't count your Best Actor trophies (one trophy) yet, Morgan Freeman. You may do a good impression of Nelson Mandela in Invictus, M.F., but in Crazy Heart we've got Jeff Bridges in an inspirational return-to-relevance-after-fall-from-grace country singer story. That ranks just below retarded and Holocaust stories on the Guaranteed-an-Oscar scale.

Who's responsible for this? I think it must be the graphic designer for Taco Bell.
Sep 11 2009 The Dude and Coens Reuniting in Hostile Indian Territory
It's the reunion you've begged for ever since you were stoned watching Big Lebowski and muttered, "EVERY movie should be with The Dude and Coen Bros." Jeff Bridges is in talks to take on the role that won John Wayne an Oscar in the Coens' remake of True Grit. Variety adds:
The picture, which also reunited the Coens with their “No Country for Old Men” producing partner Scott Rudin, has been redrafted by the Coens to be more faithful to the Charles Portis novel that the original film was based on.In it, a 14 year old girl tags along with an aging U.S. marshal and another lawman to track the outlaw who killed her father. The trail leads them into hostile Indian territory. The original told the story from Cogburn’s vantage point, but the new version will work from the viewpoint of the young girl. Kim Darby played the young girl in the original, and Glen Campbell played the other lawman.
As much as I like Jeff Bridges, I'm not sure he has the grit quotient for the part. I mean, we're talking a role once filled by JOHN WAYNE. Sand in your teeth doesn't have as much grit at that guy. If we're going to be remaking John Wayne movies, we first need to get in the lab, do the research, and invent an actor made of pure testosterone. Though, there's always the risk that trying to make a lab-made human out of testosterone could end up just creating a giant, sentient testicle, putting us in a worse position than we are now.
Man, I would not want to be the one to make that call. (The call whether or not to create a pure testosterone thespian, knowing the risks of birthing a giant, conscious testicle.)
Aug 28 2009 'Men Who Stare at Goats' Trailer: Coen Brothers Lite
This trailer for Men Who Stare at Goats is basically Diet Coen Brothers. I'm not going to say it will completely fulfill you in the same way a refreshing Coen Brothers will, but I think you'll detect enough of that distinctly Coen flavor in Grant Heslov's comedy--especially with a mustached George Clooney and long-haired, druggie Jeff Bridges--that it should at least tide you over until you can get the real deal:

Jul 27 2009 'Tron Legacy' Teaser: Light Cycling, Now Less Revolutionary!
The Tron Legacy teaser trailer went online over the weekend, and if you thought seeing a complicated 3-D bike battle was impressive in 1982, wait until you see it in 2009! Far less impressive, actually. I don't know if you've heard, but computer generation is a pretty standard system of rendering objects at this point; no longer groundbreaking. Looks like it will make for a pretty solid video game though:

Jul 28 2008 'TR2N' Comic Con Trailer in Convenient Postage Stamp Size
Here's another video that won't exist long, because it was meant only for the eyes of those who attended a weekend convention of comic books and other nerdy entertainment. Disney's preferred method of dispersing TR2N information is through word of mouth, with Con attendees telling non-Con attendees, "Jeff Bridges was totally in it, and there were those sweet light motorcycles just like in the first Tron, or like in the Tron arcade game, but without the part where you have to fire upwards at the MCP cone. Also, it was called 'Tr-two-en' for some reason." But if you'd rather just see it yourself, here it is.
(Thanks, Dave.)

Jul 25 2008 This is Not the 'Tron 2' Title. It Can't Be. Seriously?
Yesterday, a surprise clip shown at Comic Con gave attendees their first glimpse at Disney's sequel to Tron. Besides revealing that Jeff Bridges was willing to reduce himself to reprising his role, the most insanely stupid title ever was unveiled.
Can you guess which of these ridiculous options it is? (Hint: it's far more ludicrous than the Fast and Furious title, including all the fakes ones I made up.)
- Tron 2.0
- Trn
- 2ron
- Tr2n
- 2222 2 (Tron 2)
- Tron.blogspot.com
- YouTron
- Tron's MySpace Account
- 2 Tron 2 Tronious
- inTRONet
- Tron. You know, Jeff Bridges, Bruce Boxleitner... Tron! Ask your dad or something.

Jun 26 2007 'Iron Man' Cast Photo

People in comic books grow facial hair
Here's a new cast photo from Iron Man. It doesn't come out for a year! Get excited! Okay, that'ts enough, snap out of it. It's time to go to work and the shit's not going to shovel itself.
