Oct 29 2007 'I'm Not There' Actors Recreate Music Video
Just when I thought it wasn't possible, I'm Not There has found a way to reach new heights in its aggressive campaign to point out, "Hey, look, we've got several celebrities doing varied impressions of Bob Dylan!"
This international trailer doesn't even mess with plot, instead focusing on how interesting it is that they've recreated the Subterranean Homesick Blues video with their celebrity celebrity impersonators.
It's actually strangely enjoyable to watch, but come on, two hours of this?

Oct 23 2007 New 'I'm Not There' Trailer Borders on Parody
Last week on SNL, there was a hilarious digital short where cast members did impressions of various actors doing impressions of Bob Dylan in a movie. Like that old skit about now-famous actors trying out for a role in Star Wars, it was very funny.
Funny, that is, until I realized this was not SNL displaying actual humor for once, but a real movie in which Richard Gere, Cate Blanchett, Heath Ledger, Christian Bale and others do impressions of Bob Dylan, apparently meant to be taken seriously.
See the new trailer under the cut, and see why Darrell Hammond is furious about his exclusion.

Aug 22 2007 I'm Not There Teaser Trailer
Maybe I hadn't been paying enough attention, but I hadn't realized until this trailer that Todd Haynes' Bob Dylan biopic was a mix of exaggerated fact and imagined fiction. Foolishly, I thought the turbulent life of one the most amazing performers ever would stand on its own ground without making shit up and casting six actors to play him. Luckily, Haynes seems to have made it pretty easy for us to guess which are the "imagined" parts. Now I'm not a Dylan historian, but I'm going to go out on a limb and guess the part where he's literally floating from a tether on his ankle, where he's riding through the woods on a horse, and the part with the arbitrary giraffe didn't happen, whereas the parts where he's riding around in a car or singing did happen. Please correct me if there was an instance where he did, in fact, float.
With that said, it looks kind of good.
Some of the YouTube links are being taken down, so the original IGN link is here if needed.
Aug 20 2007 Christian Bale Shows His Dylan

Here are the latest stills from Todd Haynes' Bob Dylan biopic I'm Not There, where we've seen Cate Blanchett , Heath Ledger, Richard Gere, and now Christian Bale doing their best impressions of the songster. With Bale looking more like some dude about to play a John Mayer hit at an open mic night, who would have thought Blanchett would be the most convincing? And more importantly, could she also do a better impression of a dude at an open mic playing John Mayer?
A larger close-up is under the cut.
Jul 16 2007 I'm Not There Clip
As much as I try, I can't take Todd Haynes' Bob Dylan biopic I'm Not There seriously. Having several actors (like Christian Bale, Richard Gere, and Heath Ledger) play Dylan sounded interesting, but this clip with Cate Blanchett as the songster and David Cross as Allen Ginsberg is lost on me. All I can see is Blanchett doing a goofy impression of Bob Dylan and Tobias Funke riding around with a beard, and in this case it's not his wife.
