As much I find Iron Man and his glib alter ego Tony Stark to be intolerable characters, I have to admit that Jon Favreau looks to have made a decent adaptation of the source material. And with a non-stop barrage of hard rock (AC/DC, Audioslave, Black Sabbath's "Iron Man", of course), constant alcohol imbibing, and the flagrant use of sports cars as backdrops, Iron Man looks to be the first superhero movie to fully capture the sensibilities of Maxim Magazine. The biggest surprise isn't that this looks like a surefire hit but that they didn't put Gwyneth Paltrow in a bikini. Make sure to watch this if you're a male 13 to 35. Otherwise, you're totally going to look like a gay.

Nov 5 2007 'Iron Man' International Trailer Has a Woman
A new international trailer for Iron Man has been released that, though shorter, shows off more of the relationship between Tony Stark and Gwyneth Paltrow's Pepper Potts. The only logical reason for the inclusion of a larger female role for international audiences is, unfortunately, that Marvel Studios thinks America is gay.
How did you get this idea, Marvel? Was it the insane popularity of the Broadway version of The Producers? It's funny and entertaining, all right? It doesn't mean anything. Is it the number of Express Men permeating our nation's malls? Come on, everyone needs a dress shirt sometime. Don't judge. Canada is just a close friend, nothing more. Haven't you seen how much we love sports and beer? Granted, we have no excuse for the continued popularity of Madonna, but at least point the finger at France first. Have you seen these guys?
Also, the inclusion of Black Sabbath's Iron Man in only the U.S. Trailer implies Marvel thinks America want the most literal interpretation of heavy metal we can get.

I'll give it to you straight here: I have man-crushes on Martin Freeman and Simon Pegg because of The Office and Shaun of the Dead, and a regular crush on Penelope Cruz because of looking amazing even if slightly mousy, so their presence makes me really want to see this hokey dramedy. Plus it's written and directed by Gwyneth Paltrow's brother Jake, so it's got nepotism going for it too.
