Mar 26 2009 'Gatchaman' Character Poster, of One of the Bird-Person Characters
One of the big reasons I've heard Watchmen didn't perform better at the box office was that people who hadn't read the comic thought the film was confusing and full of silly costumes and unfamiliar characters. I'm just wondering if the people over at Imagi are at all concerned that they're making a film called Gatchaman, based on a '70s anime, starring characters in futuristic bird costumes. I'm fine with it, but you know people.
They've probably come too far to worry about it now, but I would suggest not making one of the characters constantly show his penis.

Sep 8 2008 What a Terrible Teaser for That Japanese Bird Person Movie
Well, here's the teaser trailer* for Gatchaman, the CGI adaptation of that anime where everyone is always wearing bird costumes and that's all I remember about it.
*By teaser trailer, I mean it's ten seconds of some cars doing things and a spaceship leaving, and only teases you in the sense of mockery you feel after watching it.

Dec 18 2007 'Gatchaman' Makes Space-Bird-Ninjas Sleek and Stuff
For some time, I've had the aching need to know how someone could strangle whatever remaining fun, nostaglia, and enjoyable kitsch out of old Japanese anime. The Wachowskis' live-action Speed Racer provided a logical answer--treat it like an aging celebrity, using modern technology to streamline it to the point that you can barely stand to look at it--but leave it to these production stills from Gatchaman to provide an assenting second opinion. Unless this is the only idea we have left, it seems a tad superfluous to modernize a team of young ninjas dressed as astronaut birds.
