Jul 17 2008 'X-Files: I Want to Believe' UK Poster Stars Wax Figures Rather Than Actors
I know I've said it before, but god, lens flares... so hot right now.
Jun 26 2008 'X-Files: I Want to Believe' Clips Appear to Have Actual 'X-Files' Cast
Thanks to Maggie for sending over this link to two new clips from X-Files: I Want to Believe--one of which, as she noted, finally confirms the presence of Mulder and Scully in this Billy Connolly picture. I'm still convinced top billing is going to "snow."
Jun 4 2008 'X-Files' Trailer, Still Snow-Search-Based but Now in English
I'm pretty sure the point of these X-Files trailers to get everyone in the audience screaming, "Look in the snow! Would you just look in the goddamn snow already? Whatever it is, I promise you it's in the snow." Only then we'll find out it's not in the snow, and we'll realize we've been X-Filed.
By the way, this is the same as the Russian trailer from yesterday, but less Russian.
Jun 3 2008 New 'X-Files 2' Trailer a Harsh Reminder of Cold War
This new X-Files: I Want to Believe trailer is, sadly for non-Russian-speakers, dubbed in Russian. Luckily, it also communicates itself in a far more universal language: grotesque eye bleeding. See it below the cut, compliments of Kyle.

May 15 2008 'X-Files' Mannequins Walk Through White, Powdery Substance in New Poster
Gillian Anderson and Animated Wax Figure of David Duchovney promote The X-Files: I Want to Believe the only way that makes sense: yet another scene of trudging through some sort of tundra. Seriously, I get that they're searching for something in the snow. Every trailer and poster can stop alerting me to this.
May 12 2008 New 'X-Files' Trailer, Starring Billy Connolly et al.
I really want to believe, but it's getting hard when every preview I see is just more of Billy Connolly running through snow. It feels more like a sequel to the Head of the Class Russian field trip than The X-Files. When fans have been waiting a decade for the reunion of Mulder and Scully, they want to see Mulder and Scully, not a sad reminder of ABC's I Love Saturday Night sitcom block. Anyway, here's the new trailer:

Apr 11 2008 New 'X-Files' Shots: Maybe the Snowflakes are Small Aliens?
For you ardent, obsessive fans who get excited at any new shot from The X-Files 2, even if it's just Mulder and Scully standing around in the snow, I present this image of Mulder and Scully standing around in the snow. You can really see in their faces how much they respectively believe and disbelieve.

Mar 28 2008 'X-Files 2' Teaser Poster is Just What You'd Expect
Either a hackneyed fan creation or one of the most uninspired posters ever, here's the supposed X-Files 2 teaser poster going around (thanks to Maggie for sending it this way). It must have taken tremendous willpower to leave out a scattered group of aliens, their shadows spelling out "Believe".
Mar 27 2008 Another Shaky 'X-Files 2' Teaser Trailer
Though similar to the previous teaser--particularly in that it's shot from the lap of a fan--this new X-Files 2 trailer does provide some brief dialogue that indicates Mulder's belief supernatural possibilities we've long forgotten (were we on aliens, bees, alien bees, or guys able to contort their body through vents?) may be... wavering? Someone must have finally shown him the final, trying seasons of his show.
If nothing else, watch it for the reaffirmation that Billy Connolly cuts his hair for no role.

Mar 14 2008 'X-Files 2' Kiss Was a Hoax??? OK Then
X-Files star David Duchovney is claiming the recent kiss between himself and co-star Gillian Anderson (remember last week?) was a fake, mildly disappointing us loose fans who didn't realize they already slept together in the series, stripping us of our vague, passing excitement at the romance. Isn't that right, Double-D?
Pictures of stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, locked in a full-on kiss as FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, appeared on Internet fansites alongside breathless speculation about the characters' are-they-or-aren't-they romance."We staged that," Mr. Duchovny told reporters.
Remember how breathlessly we discussed the issue, gasping for precious air as we choked out our hopeful prayers? It was all for nothing.
I guess you just can't trust a kiss anymore--and that's not even counting the exhausting dangers of mono. Unless this is just a clever, typically X-Files-style cover-up of leaked information, meant to lead us off track! Whatever. Let's move on to speculating whether or not Mulder does it with an alien.

Mar 6 2008 New 'X-Files 2' Set Shots--Ewww, Spoilers!
What tragic event has led to a sympathetic embrace between Mulder and Scully? If you don't care about ruining future enjoyment for yourself, see the answer below the cut. It's a good'n!

Feb 25 2008 'X-Files 2' Teaser Trailer from WonderCon
The X-Files 2 teaser premiered at WonderCon this weekend (as did, surely, several costumes of that anime guy with the giant cross), and some tireless bootleggier was on-hand to make sure we get to enjoy a blurry facsimile of it. I can barely tell what's going on, but the crowd seems to be loving it. Not since the last time Arvid and Dennis got into an unlikely predicament have I witnessed anyone so excited by the unexpected appearance of Billy Connolly.

Jan 17 2008 Image! Mulder and Scully, Together Again
Like many fans of the series, my interest with The X-Files began to wane as its one-off stories of incestuous freaks and mutants able to contort through narrow vents were slowly replaced by the long, confusing mystery of aliens and their involvement with Mulder's sister. Thankfully, this interview with creator Chris Carter has confirmed what many prior devotees hoped for: that the new film will drop the whole alien mythology crap. This news, along with the above first official image, has renewed some of my interest in this project. I have to admit, it is reassuring to see Mulder and Scully together again, and for once it's outside of the realm of erotic fan art.

Dec 12 2007 From the Set of 'X-Files 2': The Truth!
To the untrained eye, the following spy shots from the set of X-Files 2: Get Them Aliens are just a series of boring shots from the backlot of some studio. Nothing but a fashion show to see how David Duchovny and Amanda Peet look in trenchcoats. But to the skilled eye (mine), the details of the scene emerge like a government plot involving bees.
More images, along with absolutely accurate scene dialogue, under the cut.
