Oct 29 2009 'The Box' Poster: Cameron Diaz by Carnival Airbrush Artist
How did this happen? She looks like Ann from Arrested Development as a colorized prison tattoo.

Oct 13 2009 Pun Deemed Best Title for Cruise/Diaz Movie
The Tom Cruise/Cameron Diaz romantic-comedy-action film once titled Wichita, née Trouble Man, has a new title. Variety reports 20th Century Fox has decided that Knight & Day is an even better title than either of those previous, completely unrelated titles.
I'm just going to go out on a limb here and guess that the lead characters' names are something like Tom Knight and Cameron Day, and that they're also comically opposite in personality? Is that close? Did I just write a movie? I think I did.
Jul 21 2009 'Green Hornet' Getting More Questionable, Cagier
As if the idea of a Michel Gondry-directed action film starring Seth Rogen as a famous masked hero wasn't dubious (though admittedly intriguing) enough already, Variety is reporting some Green Hornet casting updates that should make the image of a question mark pop into existence above your head. Nicolas Cage and Cameron Diaz, both of whom seem nearly incapable of making a decent film without the involvement of Spike Jonze, are in talks to join:
Columbia Pictures is in early talks with Nicolas Cage to play the gangster villain in "The Green Hornet."Cameron Diaz is negotiating to play a reporter and love interest in the Michel Gondry-directed pic that stars Seth Rogen as the masked crime fighter.
The picture is moving full steam ahead for a fall start date, even as the studio looks to replace Stephen Chow, who was going to play sidekick Kato.
Well, I hope they're able to get Eddie Murphy's voice for Kato the Talking Cat. If they're set on making this the most improbable-to-succeed movie ever, that's going to be key.
Jul 17 2009 Final 'The Box' Poster: Less Diaz, More Cyclops and Skeletor
Looking much like its poster predecessor, which already looked like the From Hell poster, the final The Box one-sheet turned up today on director Richard Kelly's Twitter machine.
If I were less mature, I'd try to make some joke about Cameron Diaz's "box" and the bloody streak down the image's center, but since I'm no longer in junior high, I'll just say "vagina" and "period stains" and let you connect the dots.
Jun 25 2009 'The Box' Trailer: Deal... or MURDER?
Exploiting America's eternal love for the simplistic mechanics of Howie Mandel's Pick-a-Box, Donnie Darko director Richard Kelly has made a new film involving idiots pressing a plunger for a million dollars. Similar to the game show in more than just its button pushing, The Box asks its players to answer a tough yes-or-no question: if Frank Langella-with-a-bite-out-of-his-face told you that a single button push would kill someone far away that you don't know, and that pushing it would make you a millionaire, and also you're Cameron Diaz, what would you do?
Personally, my policy has always been to immediately push any button put within reach before anyone can explain its function, thus exonerating me from any possible moral dilemmas, but maybe you'll come up with another plan after seeing this trailer:
Apr 7 2009 'The Box' Poster Came From Somewhere...
Sometimes the most effective design strategy will be to add Cameron Diaz's head to the From Hell poster. That's one of the first things you learn in art school after pencils and drawing three-dimensional cubes.

Mar 26 2009 Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz in: Undefined Romantic Comedy
The Vanilla Sky re-teaming you never asked for is here:
James Mangold is attached to direct the untitled romantic comedy formerly known as "Wichita" and "Trouble Man" at 20th Century Fox. It's eyed as a potential pairing of Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz.Story revolves around a woman who has terrible luck with men but finds her path intertwined with that of a mysterious handsome man she meets on a blind date.
Chris Tucker and Eva Mendes were attached last year along with director Tom Dey, but that incarnation fizzled. The script was originated by Patrick O'Neill, and prior drafts have been done by Frank and Dana Fox, who wrote the Diaz starrer "What Happens in Vegas" for Fox.
"So, it's called Wichita. Or maybe Trouble Man. Both are equally applicable, even though the premise doesn't mention either Wichita or a trouble man. But there is a handsome man! You know, like a Tom Cruise type. Or Chris Tucker. Chris Tucker also would have worked as the mysterious, handsome man. Same archetype, Cruise and Tucker. Interchangeable."
You can tell a lot of thought has been put into this project.
Mar 26 2008 New, Meltier 'What Happens in Vegas...' Trailer
I'm told this is a second trailer to What Happens in Vegas, and that it's somehow different, even funnier, than the first. I can't say I noticed either, but it did suddenly occur to me that the zany typeface used in the titles is remarkably similar to the one used to describe such pleasures as "melty cheese" in Taco Bell ads. Can I safely say this is the official font of things that make me physically ill?

Mar 14 2008 'What Happens in Vegas Poster' Hints at Double Entendre
Huh-ho! I totally get it, Kutch! Cameron Diaz--that blonde dolt--is standing there thinking "Get Lucky" only refers to her winnings in Vegas! But all it took was that knowing grin and a point and I knew my man Kutch was talking a whole different kind of "lucky"! That is so awesome!
Judging by both this and the trailer, acknowledging the viewer is apparently a pretty big theme in What Happens in Vegas--probably falling just behind the theme of hilarious, Punk'd-style pranks and the theme of nonsensical court judgments for the sake of wacky plot development.

Jan 21 2008 'What Happens in Vegas' Trailer Shouldn't Have Happened At All
Like the recent Laws of Attraction, or any episode of a sitcom in which the main characters go to Las Vegas, What Happens in Vegas begins with the well-established premise that anyone who gets drunk in the state of Nevada will wake up confused, naked, and married. Then, to make things more complicated, newlyweds Cameron Diaz and Kutch win a $3 million jackpot that each claims ownership of. How can they solve this conundrum? Go to court, where, sensibly, Judge Dennis Miller (between hilarious, long-winded one-liners, no doubt) decides that the best movie plot would be to freeze the money and sentence the two to six months of "hard marriage." Makes sense.
From what I could gather from the trailer, apparently the judge also decrees that the first one to leave their unloving marriage will forfeit their share of the money, so the two begin a battle of one-upmanship to drive the other out of the relationship. While their attempts at foiling the other somehow, inevitably, lead to true love, it's the stupidity of these pranks that really tests your patience. Diaz enters the bathroom, we hear a splash, then Kutch--a sly grin across his face--holds up a toilet seat. Who is he showing this to? Me, the viewer? If he's going to break the fourth wall, he might as well go all out and apologize for this mess.

Jun 29 2007 Cameron Diaz' Horrifying Box

"Don't go in my vagina..."
Yup, you guessed it, this entire post is basically an excuse to write that headline. The story is, Donnie Darko director Richard Kelly is directing a horror movie called The Box in which Cameron Diaz is set to star.
Kelly wrote the script based on Richard Matheson short story "Button, Button." Diaz will play a young woman given a mysterious box by a stranger. She's told that certain things will happen depending on which buttons she presses.
*snicker* I guess they decided "Button, Button" wasn't a clear enough vagina reference.
