If you don't already have the Home Box Office channel, it's time to bring your wife in and have a frank discussion about how you might be able to shuffle some money around--maybe wait a few more months on that new washing machine--and call your local cable company to subscribe to television's leading premium network, because don't you want to see what Martin Scorsese is doing with a television series? Then again, you apparently don't even bother with Treme or Curb or anything else, so maybe you don't even care. What DO you care about, if not certain television shows?

Mar 17 2010 Cowabunga! It's the 'Boardwalk Empire' Trailer!

In all my excitement over the Treme trailer yesterday, I totally forgot to post the trailer for the other series you should be putting in your eyeball queue: Boardwalk Empire. The involvement of HBO, Martin Scorsese, Sopranos writer Terence Winter, and a pretty impressive roster of actors heavily suggests this will be a good one. Plus, it holds a special spot in my brain's interest node because parts were shot around the corner from my apartment, meaning a bunch of trucks were parked here for a couple days. And you know what boys think of trucks. BOYS LOVE TRUCKS.

Is it just me, or does the 30-second mark suggest a new, prohibition-era origin of the Ninja Turtles?

Jul 21 2009 EXCLUSIVE First Sort-of Look at HBO's 'Boardwalk Empire'

Martin Scorsese is shooting the pilot of Boardwalk Empire, the upcoming HBO series about the rise of Atlantic City as a gambling haven, and though you'll have to wait a bit longer to start Tivoing and lavishing it with Emmy Awards, my friend Todd got this shot of the filming going on in Park Slope, Brooklyn. If you can't tell, that's Steve Buscemi getting out of an old fashioney car! Look how the door opens, and where the steering wheel is! It's crazy!

I didn't say it was an exciting exclusive.
