No more choosing between watching a movie about a man or a movie about a wolf. Thanks to modern technology machines, enjoy both fantastic genres with The Wolfman:

Aug 20 2009 'Wolfman' Trailer: See What Happens When a Man Sometimes Turns Into a Partial Wolf!
The trailer for Joe Johnson's The Wolfman has been released, and I'm pleased to say that, as hoped, the film looks dark, often ominous, and full of grade A special effects and actors. But I can't help but think that maybe the preview could have shown a little bit more of Wolfman's relationship with his high school girlfriend, and how he has to protect her from all the nomadic rival werewolves that want to kill her. What do you think?
Mar 25 2009 Penn, Del Toro, and Carrey Probably Your New Larry, Moe, and Curly
The nyucking is all coming together. Variety reports that Sean Penn has officially signed on to play Larry in the Farrelly Brothers' modern take on a Three Stooges comedy; meanwhile, Jim Carrey is in talks to put on 40 pounds to play Curly, and Benicio Del Toro may be getting a bowl-cut:
Studio has set Sean Penn to play Larry, and negotiations are underway with Jim Carrey to play Curly, with the actor already making plans to gain 40 pounds to approximate the physical dimensions of Jerome "Curly" Howard. The studio is zeroing in on Benicio Del Toro to play Moe.
The film is not a biopic, but rather a comedy built around the antics of the three characters that Moe Howard, Larry Fine and Howard played in the Columbia Pictures shorts.
Steve Martin grave robbing the magnifying glass from Peter Sellers' cold hands has got me used to the idea of modern actors recreating iconic roles. I'm numb to it. Even though I'd say this is far more heinous, being that the actors who played the Stooges are completely synonymous with these roles, I'm willing to let this stand as a misguided tribute.
What worries me, though, is the standard this is setting for the future. In 40 years, when I'm taking my grandchildren to see the latest Ice Age movie (this one has prehistoric mammals, dinosaurs, and jets), I don't want to be greeted with a trailer for a new Austin Powers, with some new actor shouting familiar catchphrases through prosthetic teeth. If we're going to let Three Stooges: 2010 stand as a precedent, the possibility seems too real for comfort.
Dec 4 2008 'Che' Poster, Trailer, Revolutionary
For a limited time, IFC will be releasing the two parts of Steven Soderbergh's Che Guevara biopic, The Argentine and Guerilla, as a single film appropriately entitled Che. To promote the event, they've released a poster that makes it seem like Che is a militant, 200-foot giant crushing remote villages beneath his feet. The trailer shows this is not the case:
Nov 12 2008 'The Wolfman' Full Body Shot (as Articulated Plastic)
Only a couple shots of Benicio Del Toro in full Wolfman makeup (see: above) have been released thus far, and, though terrifying, they've both been of only the face. But we, the internet-savvy, know you can't trust headshots. We need to see your body, Wolfman, and you need to be holding up a little sign with your screen name on it so we know it's really you.
At last, he has complied. Behold, the full terror of Wolfman... in action figure form. It looks so much like Zach Galifianakis dressed as Han Solo that I'm not even going to pretend I'm being witty with that observation. That's just truth:

Aug 26 2008 'Argentine' Poster Has a Secret Code
Here's the new international poster for Stephen Soderbergh's The Argentine, which stars Benicio Del Toro as the guy on shirts. If you look closely, you'll notice Fidel Castro's miniature head popping out of the corner, which is your cue to press down and start with your poster controller, taking you to a battle against the secret character Smoke Che.
Sometimes my mind functions only in incredibly specific Mortal Kombat references, regardless of how obtuse or inappropriate they are, and I'm sorry for that.

Jul 30 2008 'Teen Wolf 3' Comic Convention Trailer
Until cyber-enforcers remover it, here's the footage of Teen Wolf 3 that was shown at the Comic Convention last weekend. It looks marginally better than Teen Wolf Too, despite an apparent lack of arbitrary, heavily-choreographed musical numbers.
Jul 3 2008 First Non-Wolfman Look at 'Wolfman'
From Empire comes the first non-lycanthropic look at Benicio Del Toro in Joe Johnston's remake of The Wolfman. Anthony Hopkins co-stars as Richard Attenborough doing Ozzie Osbourne.
Mar 19 2008 First Look at Benicio Del Toro as a Werewolf
Entertaiment Weekly has nabbed the first look at The Wolfman's outstandingly detailed, sort of Robert Smith-haired titular monster, along with an interview with legendary ponytailed makeup artist Rick Baker. Though it's hard to tell through the dense prosthetics, the already-hirsuit face of Benicio Del Toro lies beneath the makeup. He certainly looks great, but one question remains: can he play basketball?
P.S.: I'm taking a couple days off. Not one to leave you in a painful void of movie news silence, I've found guest blogger Kevin to take over for the rest of the week. Enjoy, but not too much, because I'll be back Monday.
Mar 11 2008 Del Toro Covered in Blood for 'Wolf Man'
Yeah, that's right. I've stooped to poorly editing Kool-Aid pitchers into Wolf Man set shots in the hopes of making blood appear to be splattered punch residue, making it seem that Benicio Del Toro really loves Kool-Aid. What of it?

Nov 12 2007 'The Argentine' Pictures Prove Che Doesn't Understand Guns
As these behind-the-scenes shots from Steven Soderbergh's The Argentine show, Benicio Del Toro seems to fully look the part of revolutionary Che Guevara. And while it's already acknowledged there will be a sequel, Guerilla, I think they also show promise for a third, Fred Claus-style movie that would focus on Che's bumbling brother, Chase.
Think about it: while Che (Del Toro) leads teams of guerrillas in a massive revolution, Chase (also Del Toro) fumbles around with his gun and tries desperately to stick to his orders to "stay put! And don't get into any trouble!" (Yeah, right! Not if I know Chase!) But when Che is captured by military forces, it's up to his half-wit brother to save the day (and Christmas?) by filling in for the revolutionary... and throwing Che t-shirts into the crowd?! Oh, Chase!
More evidence that this movie should be made is under the cut.

Oct 12 2007 Del Toro Channels Hobbits for 'Guerilla'
Che Guevara: Marxist revolutionary, political leader, guerilla... whittler. For the second of Steven Soderbergh's Che biopics, Guerilla, Benicio del Toro seems to be focusing on the Hobbit-style smoking/whittling aspects of the figure. I particularly like the guys in the background.
"So... do you think we could get back to our socialist revolution, Che?"
"Hold on. I'm making a boat."

Mar 16 2006 Benicio Del Toro to Play Wolf Man
To further the continuing chain of unnecessary Hollywood remakes, Universal has decided to update the Lon Chaney horror classic The Wolf Man, with Benicio Del Toro playing the title role.
Seven scribe Andrew Kevin Walker has begun writing the script. Scott Stuber, Rick Yorn, Mary Parent and Del Toro will produce. Like the 1941 original that starred Lon Chaney Jr., new pic will be set in Victorian England. Del Toro will play a man who returns from America to his ancestral homeland, gets bitten by a werewolf and begins a hairy moonlight existence.
To prepare himself for the role, Del Toro will continue looking like a creepy wolf man.
Jan 26 2006 CHEck This Out!

Benicio Del Toro has been spotted for the first time in his full Che garb on the set of the biopic of the same name. Let me admit, straight up, I've never seen an actual photograph of Che Guevara, but Del Toro does look pretty close to the shirts people kept wearing back when Rage Against the Machine was popular. Granted, I've also never seen the actual shirts, but I think I saw a parody shirt once where that Super Mario character was Che, and I can imagine how this might look something like what that might have been imitating.
