Sep 8 2008 'Bangkok Dangerous' Must Be A Really Good Movie To Make So Much Money
1. Bangkok Dangerous - Only $7.8 million? There's no way this thing is even going to make back its hairpiece budget.
2. Tropic Thunder - Thunder rolls--around in piles of money! Yes, thats what I said. ($7.5 million)
3. The House Bunny - Still empowering women with the message that you can be beautiful and smart and make blowjob jokes, earning another $5.9 million. (I don't remember if that was actually the message.)
4. The Dark Knight - It's looking like there's a chance this could beat Titanic. But only in terms of domestic profits. Never in terms of two people loving each other harder than anyone else in history. ($5.7 million)
5. Traitor - Traitor!? What the hell is Traitor!? Oh, right, it's that Don Cheadle thing, like it was last week. ($4.7 million)

Jul 1 2008 Nicolas Cage Is So 'Bangkok Dangerous' It Makes Me Thirsty
Sorry for the lack of posts over the last 24-hours. Things went wrong! I will make it up to you. With Nicolas Cage. So here's a new clip from his latest stab at long-haired action stardom, Bangkok Dangerous. It's not as mind blowing as the last clip, where he chops off a guy's hand with an outboard motor then shoots him with his own gun, but it does have a pretty outstanding setting, putting the action in the one place you've always wanted to see a gun fight but never have: Poland Springs' darkroom?
Jun 18 2008 New 'Bangkok Dangerous' Clip May Be a Parody of Nic Cage Action Movies
In this clip from Bangkok Dangeous, the following things are somehow all contained within a minute of footage:
- Hot girls ride a boat with someone who appears to be Asia's answer to Hunter S. Thompson.
- A high-speed boat chase between said man (the girls are now gone somehow) and Nicolas Cage.
- Nicolas Cage dodging bullets with only the slightest of shoulder shifts, performed long after the bullet would have hit him.
- Nicolas Cage hijacking a motorcycle in less than a second, riding it a short distance, then jumping back onto another boat.
- Nicolas Cage using an outboard motor as a weapon--by which I mean physically lifting it out of the water and sawing off a man's gun-wielding hand.
- Then he pries the gun out of that guy's lifeless hand and shoots him! Several times!! With his own gun!!! (In case you didn't catch that.)
In short, it needs to be watched several times to be fully appreciated. My only complaint is that Cage didn't slap the guy with his disembodied hand before shooting him.

May 7 2008 'Bangkok Dangerous' Poster Implies Guns May Be Involved, Possibly
It's really strange how many times this poster suggests the presence of guns without ever showing them.
1. Bullet holes in the thin layer of glass between us and the poster-verse. Man, I bet some guys are seriously shooting some guns at the fourth wall.
2. Does Nicolas Cage have a stump arm? No. He's just reaching in his awesome leather jacket, probably for a gun.
3. At first glance, Nicolas Cage appears to be holding a gun. At second glance: he's not actually holding a gun. His hand is just positioned in an open grasp such that a gun might fit in his hands if someone were to carefully slide one in.
I'm starting to think Bangkok might not be so outright dangerous--just implicitly so.

Apr 2 2008 'Bangkok Dangerous' Trailer: Another Nic Cage Talkie!
Nicolas Cage: acting's equivalent to being deaf and dumb. Or so it would seem from the trailer to Bangkok Dangeros. The Pangs have recreated their 2000 Thai deaf/mute hitman redemption story for American audiences, only all the deaf/mute part has been exchanged for the intense, dumbfounded looks and verbal quips of Nicolas Cage. Not only that, it looks like the visually arresting quality of the original has been downplayed as well, leaving us with just another bland chronicle of Nic Cage's stringy, artificial hair--this time with more guns. I don't know if it's worse that this is how other nations feel America has to be pandered to or that they're probably right.

Mar 27 2008 'Bangkok Dangerous' Poster, or Nic Cage Plays with iSight
There's only one way out. It would seem it involves having a single facial expression (dumbfounded intensity) and desperately clinging to youth with biker jackets and hair appliances.
