Apr 22 2009 'Ridley Scott Making Monopoly Movie' Not the Made-Up Part

From The Onion Radio News:

Funny, but also raises a good question: will the pieces be characters in the Monopoly movie? It would be ridiculous, but no more ridiculous than a Monopoly movie already is, and a tuxedo-wearing Ian Holm complaining about medical bills is probably only enough meat for half a film.

Feb 3 2009 Never Get in John Connor's Eyeline

I was going to leave this for The Superficial since it seems more gossipy than movie news relevanty, but seeing that so many people sent it in last night and this morning, here's a link to the recording of Christian Bale flipping out on Terminator Salvation cinematographer Shane Hurlbut. Apparently the D.P. was wandering around while Bale was doing a dramatic scene, so Bale decided to go off on the guy for several expletive-filled minutes, threatening to trash his lights and kick his "fucking ass" while Hurlbut meekly defends himself. And even more surprising: Christian Bale still has to call McG "McG"?

Obviously not safe for work unless you want to threaten your workmates in a Welsh accent.

Apr 14 2008 Old Tyme Radio Drama Usurps Harvey Dent Conference

Yesterday, someone going by only the cryptic name of "Giggleloop" informed me of a new development in the Dark Knight marketing campaign: a Harvey Dent press conference! Finally the fictional Batman character would be speaking to the public as if he were a real political figure! My excitement was palpable. Unfortunately, the entire event was unexpectedly interrupted and replaced by an old-timey radio show in which a hostage crisis is negotiated by the daring Gotham district attorney. It's no Amos & Andy (in that it's not dependent on horribly racist stereotypes), but you can hear the whole thing here.

Jan 22 2008 'Cloverfield' Monster: Dead or Alive?

cloverfield-dead-monster.jpg

In today's point-counterpoint, we have Vink on one side, who's pointed out that if you brought some sort of audio recording device into Cloverfield, stayed past the credits, recorded the strange voice, then used a program to reverse that audio, you can hear a voice saying, "It's still alive." I assume everyone already did this, but here's the clip if you didn't for some reason.

On the other side of the argument, we have the above image, just updated on the official site. I have to say, it makes a pretty convincing argument for "not alive."

Thoughts? (Quoting Bon Jovi's "Wanted Dead or Alive" is allowable as your thought.)
