Though it's been a decade-and-a-half since video games Arch Rivals and Bill Laimbeer's Combat Basketball swept us off our feet and into a paradise filled with equal parts punching and slam dunking, Thailand just got the memo that shooting hoops and breaking a dude's jaw is a great combination. I respect that this movie is able to meet every imaginable base desire--like the desire to see the bizarre sexual fetishes of another culture alongside unheard of amounts of graphic violence--while also providing strong positive female role models--like crazy-acid-spraying-nipple lady, and vagina-is-a-monster lady. It's rare to find such a powerful fusion, but when you do, it's magical.

Jan 25 2008 'Shutter' Trailer Sees More Pale Asian Ghosts
The most important lesson that can be learned from this trailer to Shutter is that if you're going to make yet another horror movie where people see ghosts in media (e.g., White Noise, The Ring), based on yet another Asian horror movie (e.g., anything with Sarah Michelle Gellar screaming, everything else), the answer to "what sets this one apart?" should never be Joshua Jackson. Never. They might as well call it "The Grudge: Now With More Irrelevancy!"

If you recall the teaser trailer to Stephen Chow's latest, CJ7, and wondered what the mutating kickball alien would look like if it shape-shifted into a far more marketable stuffed toy, this new image is for you. Jul 23 2007 Stephen Chow to Play Kato?
The blogosphere (read "nerds") is up in arms about the news that Seth Rogen wants Stephen Chow to play Kato in the new Green Hornet movie he's writing.
Stephen Chow is both Asian and does kung fu, so I don't know what people are whining about.
May 15 2007 Point Break 2: Search for Asian Swayze and Reeves
"Hey Bodhi, check it out: I'm doing an impression of your career."
That's right, I said Point Break 2. No doubt inspired by Hot Fuzz's Point Break tribute, Peter Iliff (Patriot Games) will write and direct the sequel, which will be set in Southeast Asia and financed by...Asians. And it will star...Asians.
RGM's CEO Devesh Chetty said casting will include English-language and Asian male leads and Asian female love interest.
"It is really important that this film stands on its own two feet and we will be looking for a young male action star at the same stage in his career as Keanu (Reeves) was," Chetty said.
Asian Keanu Reeves, Asian Keanu Reeves...Might I suggest...Tony Jaa? Too talented?
Honestly, I just said that so I'd have an excuse to post the elephant throwing clip from The Protector. Epic.
