M. Night Shyamalan, Rolan Emmerich Begrudgingly Acknowledge Needing Rewrites, and More...

- Though credited as sole writer of his previous nine films, M. Night Shyamalan has turned to Traffic screenwriter Stephen Gaghan to do a final polish on his lastest script, One Thousand A.E. Ideally, Gaghan's re-write includes an altered ending, thus allowing Shyamalan to finally experience the sense of rage-filled surprise most of us feel when we reach the end of one of his films.
- Roland Emmerich has frozen pre-production on his next film, Singularity, to work more on the script. Has to get it up to the strict standards he set with Independence Day, Godzilla, The Day After Tomorrow, 10,000 B.C., and 2012.
- Finally getting a break from playing it so restrained on The Office, Steve Carell will play the lead in an adaptation of Dave Barry and Alan Zweibel's Lunatics. Carell's reason for shouting in this film: he's an angry soccer dad.
- Peter Dinklage has confirmed he'll be starring in My Dinner with Hervé, playing 3'11" Fantasy Island co-star and Dunkin' Donuts spokesman Hervé Villechaize. That's typecasting for ya.
- In preparation for the Monday premiere of Breaking Dawn, Part I, Twilight fans are already camping outside L.A.'s Nokia theater. If I want to get close enough to Taylor Lautner to feel his warm panting, I'd better hurry. Have a nice weekend.
