John Hillcoat's bootlegging drama Lawless is based on the true exploits of brothers running moonshine in Prohibition-era Virginia, and it has a stacked cast filled with talented rising stars and established presences, including Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Mia Wasikowska, Jessica Chastain, a weaselly, eyebrow-less Guy Pearce, and an increasingly-rare fully-clothed Shia LaBeouf. It also has a new red-band trailer that is NSFW depending on your employer's policies on topless ladies and embarrassing, old-fashioney mob torture. Have a look below.

Part of what will be a six-part series of Lawless infographics planned to take advantage of how the internet likes infographics, this latest poster (from Crave) for John Hillcoat's Prohibition-era crime film presents us with some graphical facts about moonshine. The most important fact to take away? Shia LaBeouf is definitely the toughest moonshine guy ever, you guys.

Here's the trailer for Lawless, the Nick Cave-scripted John Hillcoat film formerly titled The Wettest County until it was realized how quickly every subway ad would have its "o" scratched out. The Prohibition-era drama focuses on a group of violent, bootlegging brothers heroically providing moonshine to Franklin county, Virginia, and the cast is hard to beat. Plucking talented rising stars and established presences from some of Hollywood's biggest franchises, Hillcoat has assembled an ensemble that includes Tom Hardy, Shia LaBeouf, Gary Oldman, Mia Wasikowska, Guy Pearce, and Jessica Chastain. Why wait to see Pearce and Chastain playing scientist and sexy scientist (respectively) in Iron Man 3 when you can see them RIGHT NOW playing slimy lawman and sexy bootlegging assistant (respectively)? And why isn't Michael Fassbender in this? Seems like a slap in the face when you've invited every other capable, suddenly-ubiquitous actor to the party.

- The rumors of a Schwarzenegger/Stallone teaming up again have been confirmed, with Deadline reporting the Planet Hollywood investors will be sharing a prison wing in Mikael Håfström's The Tomb. Gosh, do you think anyone will think to promote this occasion with a magazine cover featuring both guys flexing?
- Christian Bale and Cate Blanchett have already signed on to star in Terrence Malick's next two films--Knight of Cups and Lawless--and now so has Natalie Portman. They're all probably going to come out of this as three-way best friends.
- If you like seeing Denzel Washington yell at a abdominally-fit young hotshot in Safe House and Unstoppable, you will probably also pay to watch him shout at Mark Wahlberg in a movie called 2 Guns. Universal Pictures hopes that is true.
- You guys enjoying HBO's Luck? Well, your enjoyment is killing horses, you monster.

Director Terrence Malick didn't make anything for the twenty years between Days of Heaven and The Thin Red Line, but the suddenly-prolific filmmaker seems determined to make up for all that lost time this decade. He already released The Tree of Life this year, and has a still-untitled Ben Affleck-Rachel McAdams romance and the documentary Voyage of Time in various stages of production. And today, FilmNation Entertainment has announced two new Malick projects they'll be releasing in the coming years.
The first is called Lawless, and will star Ryan Gosling in the lead, surrounded by an impressive cast that includes Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Rooney Mara, and Marley & Me's Haley Bennett. For the second film, Knight of Cups, Bale has the lead role, starring with Cate Blanchett (again) and Isabel Lucas. Nothing has been announced in terms of plots, but, you know, expect some kind of plodding, Malicky things--and maybe tarot cards and/or Xena references. The films will be shot back-to-back next year, still giving you plenty of time to mature to the point where you can choose one of these beautiful, contemplative films for adults ahead of whatever Marvel superhero sequel is showing a theater over. Unless Iron Man 3 ends up looking super awesome, naturally.
