We're Going To Remake Some More Jerry Lewis Movies

The Jerry Lewis comedies The Bellboy, Cinderfella, and The Family Jewels are getting modern updates, thanks to Artificial Intelligence Entertainment and Social Capital Films. The companies have reportedly acquired the remake rights to those films--as well as fellow Jerry Lewis acting-idiotic-in-slightly-varied-contexts classics The Errand Boy, The Patsy, and Who's Minding the Store?--and plan to use those rights to their fullest to, as producer Christopher Tuffin puts it, "combine the spirit of the originals with a modern sensibility," which probably means the dogs The Bellboy walks are going to have computer-generated facial expressions. And as if Nutty Professor II: The Klumps is something to aspire to, fellow producer John Baca is already envisioning each remake "as a stand-alone comedy franchise," so you should be prepared for a few sequels when The Bellboy (starring our master of mundane professions, Kevin James, obviously) inevitably makes $150 million, because that is our future.
