The first teaser trailer for Hotel Transylvania did a good job assuring everyone that Adam Sandler and friends would pal around vocally just as readily as they pal around in person for any number of Grown Ups films. But, as lovers of scatological humor surely noticed, it did not contain any of the jokes about shit one demands given the combined shit-joke likelihood of an Adam Sandler film and a CGI comedy. Where are the jokes reminding us how funny poop is??? Oh, here's one:

In this first teaser for Sony Pictures' Hotel Transylvania, an Adam Sandler-voiced Dracula calls the titular inn "a place I built for all those monsters hiding from the persecution of humankind." The description works equally well for the film as a whole, which hides Sandler, Kevin James, David Spade, and (unfortunately) Steve Buscemi in CGI Halloween costumes, behind which they can once again lazily pal around, now free from humankind's persecution of Grown Ups. Sandler protégé Andy Samberg also figures in prominently, providing the voice of a young man who wanders into Hotel Transylvania with the same naïveté Samberg probably exuded his first day on the set of That's My Boy, before he realized he was just making a Budweiser commercial. I can't wait to watch him slowly realize what he's stumbled into, become fearful, and finally resign himself to his new family of repellent castoffs! Both Samberg and his character.
