Clint Eastwood Trying To Talk DiCaprio into 'A Star is Born'

How about Leonardo DiCaprio as a drunk, washed-up musician serving as mentor/lover to Beyoncé? Well, Clint Eastwood thinks it's just a fine idea, and he's reportedly talking to the actor about starring in his remake of A Star Is Born.
According to Deadline, Eastwood has been using the downtime on the set of his in-production J. Edgar Hoover film to try to talk DiCaprio into doing another movie with him, this time playing his upcoming musical remake's male lead--a part last inhabited by and still strewn with the stray beard hairs of Kris Kristofferson. Last we heard about this part, Will Smith, Jon Hamm, and Robert Downey Jr. were being tossed around as possibilities, but now it appears the director is looking for someone a little younger and a little more likely to make Martin Scorsese shout, "Eastwood is stealing my boyfriend!" You should never have let him out with another old, critically-lauded director, Marty.
