Bryan Cranston, Elizabeth Olsen May Flee Godzilla

Still insisting that their Godzilla reboot have useless things like personal connections and characters that are not giant lizards, Legendary Pictures has entered talks with two more actors to be humans in this thing.

According to Variety, Bryan Cranston and Elizabeth Olsen are now in talks to potentially join Aaron Johnson as characters that will not be Matthew Broderick or Hank Azaria. Olsen, who won acclaim for her role in Martha Marcy May Marlene, has reportedly been "on the lookout for a franchise pic," and first considered Captain America: The Winter Solider and the stalled Ninja Turtles before settling on Godzilla as her means to emerge from the waters of indie fare to become King of the Olsens. Cranston, meanwhile, already did Total Recall last year, so what does he care? It's not like you aren't going to finish up Breaking Bad either way.

The trade stresses that no final deals will be made until there's a finished script, which is currently being written by Frank Darabont. There's no word on the roles Olsen and Cranston are up for, but from what I know of the Godzilla mythos, they'll probably be these two:
