Pixar Concept Art Teases How They Will Make Us Laugh/Cry in Coming Years
Begin envisioning the next several years of Pixar emotional manipulation with this batch of concept art from the studio's upcoming lineup. Dinosaurs and various human skulls guaranteed.
This one is from the May 30, 2014 release, The Good Dinosaur. That film asks what would happen if Earth's massive dinosaurs still existed, and answers with, "We'd obviously ride around on their big-ass necks. Duh, idiots."
This sketch comes from Up director Pete Docter's still-untitled 2015 release, said to take audiences inside the human mind. So one of these cute little characters probably represents toxoplasmosis.
From another untitled release, this one comes from Toy Story 3 director Lee Unkrich and is scheduled for 2016. It concerns Dia de los Muertos, the Mexican holiday given to remembrance of the dead--in this case probably by way of touching, heart-rending montage. Fine, I'll cry again, Pixar.
