'Hansel & Gretel' Succeeds By Some Measure, 'Movie 43' Does Not


Your weekend box office:

1. Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters - $19 million--a first-place reward for giving the public exactly what they wanted. A film about Hansel and Gretel being adults who wear cool leather and hunt witches.

2. Mama - $12.9 million. Another solid week for Martin Lawrence.

3. Silver Linings Playbook - $10 million, dropping just 7% as weak competition made this the week the nation said, "Fine, I'll see it. But honestly, I really couldn't care less if those two get together."

4. Zero Dark Thirty - $9.8 million. Spoiler: 'merica!

5. Parker - $7 million, squeaking into the top five on the hot buzz of being something that is not Movie 43. Oh, apparently Jason Statham and Jennifer Lopez are in it?
