Fund This Documentary About Tim Burton's Weird, Failed Superman Movie

This summer, Man of Steel ushers in a new era of Superman, in which his underwear is left dangling from the bedpost and now he's got these wristband things. But Metalocalypse and Venture Bros. director Jon Schnepp is hoping we don't forget the Supermen of yore--like that time in the late '90s when Tim Burton tried to get Nicolas Cage to be Superman in a glowing, iridescent suit, until life started making sense again. Concept work and test shots for Burton's incredibly-weird Superman Lives have popped up over the years, but Schnepp hopes to advance our surreal understanding of why this would happen even further with the feature-length documentary The Death of "Superman Lives": What Happened?, which he's currently trying to raise some money for. Here's his Kickstarter video, where he shows off some of the bizarre concept art he's found, and explains his vision of interviewing screenwriter Kevin Smith, director Tim Burton, potential-Superman-somehow Nicolas Cage, and anyone else he can in the hopes of figuring out how this was possibly almost real.
