Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen Confirmed for Another 'X-Men'

Back to helmets and wheelchairs for Sirs Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart.

As Stewart previously hinted through bizarre euphemism, he and McKellen will be reprising their respective roles as Professor Mindcontrol and Dr. Magnet in the latest chapter of the X-Men saga, Days of Future Past. Returning director Bryan Singer tweeted the news earlier today, first announcing the return of the First Class's central cast before adding, "Thrilled to announce @ianmckellen118 & @SirPatStew are joining the cast of #XMEN #DaysOfFuturePast #magneto #professorX More to come..." Assuming Stewart's previous claims continue to hold up, that "more to come" likely means Halle Berry, Famke Janssen, Rebecca Stamos, Anna Paquin, and others will soon be announced as well. Or maybe it means there will also be baby versions of the cast to go with the 30-something and aged versions, and that all three ages will meet and share a sloppy intergenerational tongue kiss with themselves in order to save mutant-kind. But then again, if this is going to be another trilogy, we're probably getting ahead of ourselves with that kind of exciting third-act climax.
