Jennifer Garner To Star with Non-Womanizing McConaughey This Time

And this time McConaughey will have a legitimate reason for keeping his scarf on and constantly leaning upon others. AIDS!

Deadline reports Jennifer Garner is in talks to reunite with her Ghosts of Girlfriends Past co-star for Dallas Buyers Club, a 1980s-set film about an AIDS-afflicted electrician's attempt to save others and his own j.k. life by illegally smuggling medicine into the U.S. McConaughey plays that ailing hero, and as we've seen from the set of Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street, he's lost a ton of weight for the role, and now looks gaunt, sad, and hardly fit to chill.

The film has long been in development, and once had Hilary Swank attached to salvage her once-award-winning career in the role Garner is now taking, that of Dr. Eve Saks. The Young Victoria's Jean-Marc Vallee is directing, and the production is reportedly hurrying to secure "the key role of a cross-dresser" before McConaughey simply dwindles away, a phantom only recognizable by its faint whiff of skunk weed and the playful pitter patter of a bongo head. Tyler Perry's always an option.
