Columbo is finally getting the authoritative, unnervingly-illustrated reference guide it deserves. Brooklyn-based artist Richard Baker has slowly been assembling The Columbo Encyclopedia, a blog that, in its first volume, is looking at the series' many murderers, presenting stats and trivia accompanied by pen-and-ink illustrations--like the above drawings of a nefarious Leonard Nimoy and Martin Landau (as twins). Subsequent volumes are expected to depict the victims and, one would hope, at least a brief "idiosyncratic detectives" section. When the artist is complete, he can expect a high five from me, because right on, man. Fuckin' Columbo.
