'RoboCop' Remake Bumped to 2014

RoboCop will have to wait a little longer to show off his wheelies. Yet another dark, rubber-coated omen that this movie will probably not be very good, Sony Pictures has announced they're delaying their José Padilha-directed remake six months, moving RoboCop from summer 2013 to the inauspicious dumping grounds of the early calendar year, February 7, 2014. Neill Blomkamp's District 9 follow-up, Elysium, has likewise been pushed back to take RoboCop's old release date, and will hit theaters with thus far no competition on August 9. RoboCop now goes up against Need for Speed, pitting Aaron Paul's video game cars against a cyborg cop's cool motorcycle. No matter who wins, ten-year-olds win.
