'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' Has Its Director
Congratulations, Matt Reeves: You shall be the one orchestrating apekind's ascent to Earth's governing species.
As reported last week, Reeves was at the top of 20th Century Fox's ambitious list of would-be directors, and Deadline now reports the Cloverfield director has reached a deal to begin getting Rise of the Planet of the Apes sequel prepped for its scheduled May 23, 2014 release. Having "experience in Statue of Liberty destruction" in his LinkedIn profile finally paid off.
