Agent Coulson To Come Back for Whedon's 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' Series
Clark Gregg's Agent Coulson may have (Avengers spoiler alert!) been killed off, but one only truly dies once they've starred in a network television procedural.
So: At the New York Comic Con this weekend, Marvel revealed that Gregg's forehead will rise to mark the dawn of another day on ABC's upcoming S.H.I.E.L.D. series. Gregg is attached to reprise his fan-loved role as Agent Coulson on the show, which centers on the day-to-day operations of the clandestine organization at the center of The Avengers universe. Joss Whedon is attached to co-write and executive produce S.H.I.E.L.D. with frequent collaborators/relatives Maurissa Tancharoen and Jed Whedon. It isn't yet clear how the trio will reintroduce Coulson--a seemingly-dead (but maybe not!) character--as a living character, but Weekend at Bernies scenarios will continue to be mentioned and imagined until that is confirmed.
