'Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters' Trailer: "You Gotta Be Kidding Me" Is About Right

Evidence that the lessons of Van Helsing, The Brothers Grimm, and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter were either ignored or gleaned too late to stop payment on Jeremy Renner's check, here's an unsmirking first look at Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, the 3D action film that casts Renner and Gemma Arterton as the titular fairy tale heroes--now leather-clad adults who coolly strut toward the camera, rest steampunk weapons on their shoulders, and shoot at whatever is snarling just out of frame (presumably witches).

Earlier this year, when the Tommy Wirkola-directed film was bumped from March 2012 to the dumping grounds of January 2013, a studio insider provided a lengthy explanation as to why that had nothing to do with Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters being as shoddy as its B-movie name implies.
