'Hangover 3', 'Magic Mike 2' Will Be Road Comedies

For those found shirtless and adrift at bachelor and bachelorette parties alike, the road out is a road comedy, apparently.

According to Warner Bros.' recently-released plot summary, The Hangover, Part III will attempt to free itself from the cycle of perpetual binging and face-mangling by this time avoiding the usual bachelor party setup and taking to the open road. Says the official description:

This time, there's no wedding. No bachelor party. What could go wrong, right? But when the Wolfpack hits the road, all bets are off.

It remains to be seen if these bets are the same bets that were off in Due Date--now with the dog probably replaced by a monkey or Ken Jeong--but it seems increasingly likely that they will at least be similar bets to those planned in Magic Mike 2, as word is now leaking that that film will also for some reason be a broad comedy set on the road. According to Channing Tatum's producing partner and Magic Mike screenwriter Reid Carolin, the planned sequel is (via):

"really ridiculous and fun. It's a road movie sort of thing, where a bunch of strippers get back together. It's more of a broad comedy."

Carolin was careful to add, however, that he's still unsure if the film will come together, as Tatum is said to currently be more focused on adapting his stripper tale for Broadway. Not to mention: strippers and a road trip? That is just a recipe for seatbelt chafing.
