She-Expendables in the Works

(Think this, but women.)

From the production company that's bringing us Dredd 3D and the "why not just make this freakishly-muscular dude a woman?" philosophy that brought us She-Ra and She-Hulk, here comes a y-chromosome-free take on The Expendables.

According to Variety, producer Adi Shankar--whose credits include The Grey, Machine Gun Preacher, and the upcoming Killing Them Softly--has hired someone with the pseudonym Dutch Southern to write the first all-female take on The Expendables that to not be categorized as soft-core pornography (see: XXXpendables). Shankar is reportedly "already in talks with several prominent actresses affiliated with the action genre," though, naturally, none of these supposedly-prominent actresses are yet being revealed, leaving us to for now imagine names like Pam Grier, Linda Hamilton, Sigourney Weaver, Gina Carano, Milla Jovovich, and Michelle Yeoh before it's inevitably revealed that, like The Expendables 3 casting department, they're probably just thinking Wesley Snipes.
