'Playing for Keeps' Trailer: Gerard Butler Will Also Earn Some Redemption via Sports

If Clint Eastwood's Trouble with the Curve trailer wasn't enough redemption-filled, vaguely sports-titled, sneer-coated melodrama for one day, give Playing for Keeps a shot. Directed by the heavy hand of Pursuit of Happyness and Seven Pounds helmer Gabriele Muccino, the film sees Gerard Butler playing a former soccer star and former husband to Jessica Biel who, after losing both those titles, goes broke and becomes coach to his son's soccer team. Of course, Soccer Butler's story--and this exhaustingly revealing trailer--do not end there. Thanks to a lustful Catherine Zeta-Jones, Butler also gets an gig as an ESPN broadcaster, and all evidence is pointing toward reconciliation with his now-engaged ex-Biel--though probably only after he makes a decision to rebuff Zeta-Jones and the cable job. After all, the film's tagline is "What do you really want?", and I have to assume the answer is "my family again!" Because the answer is definitely not "a middling romance with Gerard Butler and, apparently, some unspecified degree of Uma Thurman."
