Now 'The Rocketeer' Is Getting a Reboot

Confident that Iron Man and Captain America have warmed audiences to helmeted, flying heroes and Joe Johnston's sort-of-campy, gee-whiz vision of the WWII-era United States, Disney has reportedly begun work on rebooting 1991's The Rocketeer.
Disney's original adaptation of the comic book hero came from Captain America: The First Avenger's Joe Johnston, and starred Billy Campbell in the title role alongside Timothy Dalton and his evil mustache and Jennifer Connelly and her not-so-evil heaving bosom. Unless you heavily weigh how often I ran around the living room pretending to be in a jetpack, response to the film was pretty lukewarm: it holds a 61% freshness rating on RottenTomatoes and opened in fourth, eventually pulling in a middling $46 million at the domestic box office. Regardless, Disney is soon meeting with writers to come up with a new, updated take on the character, Vulture claims, so I imagine it shouldn't be long before Battleship and Disney's John Carter star Taylor Kitsch has yet another dubious blockbuster to reluctantly hitch himself to. Third time's the charm?
