In the usual Andersonian tradition, director Wes Anderson's next diorama will feature both new, popular figurines and old favorites he's carefully hand-painted with new outfits.

Following the unusually high critical and box office support for his latest, Moonrise Kingdom, Anderson looking to add even more big names to his next, with Twitch reporting the auteur is courting Jude Law and Johnny Depp to take pay cuts for a yet-untitled film. Looking to give Anjelica Huston a break on playing the dignified, strong-willed matriarch, Anderson is also said to be approaching Angela Lansbury instead of going with the more obvious choice of someone from The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.

More familiarly, Anderson is reaching out to prior coworkers Owen Wilson, Edward Norton, Jeff Goldblum, Adrien Brody, Willem Dafoe, and, yes, of course Bill Murray for still-undisclosed parts. Possible scheduling problems aside, one would assume this latter list's entries are pretty safe bets for participating, but it's still not clear how successful or far along talks are with Law, or Depp, who's probably at least a little put-off that someone would ask him to wear their idea for a ridiculous, eccentric wardrobe. If you can't design your own bird head, what's the point, man?
