Jeremy Renner and Amy Adams Will Be in David O. Russell's Next

With Christian Bale recently dropping out of David O. Russell's next film, Bourne Legacy's proven-reliable replacement part has been shipped over to make things work again.

In the drama--once titled American Bullshit, now untitled until someone comes up with a name that can be sold in Walmart stores--Bale had been attached to play real-life con artist Mel Weinberg, who was caught by the FBI and turned star witness in the Abscam corruption case. Russell's Silver Linings Playbook star Bradley Cooper was attached to play the FBI agent who catches Weinberg, but upon Bale's departure, he called dibs on being the con artist, so now he's in that role. Renner will take the discarded FBI part under the assurance it's still good and Cooper barely touched it. Amy Adams is also re-teaming with Russell to take on the role of Maxine "Max" Gardner, Weinberg's mistress and co-conspirator. Sorry, mom, you'll have to wait a little longer for the inevitable film where Adams and Cooper first bicker but eventually realize they're in love.
