Actress and Frequent Maid Lupe Ontiveros Dies at 69

Lupe Ontiveros, an actress whose 100+ screen roles most frequently saw her cleaning houses, has died after a battle with liver cancer. She was 69.

Many may remember one of Ontiveros's numerous maid roles--by her own estimate, she played a maid over 300 times if you count her theater work--in particular: she was the Spanish-speaking Rosalita in The Goonies, and saved the day with her manic discovery of the hidden rich stuff in Mikey's marble pouch. She also played Jennifer Lopez's murderer in Selena, and was in 2005 nominated for an Emmy for her role on Desperate Housewives. More recently, she attended Steve Guttenberg's Party Down-catered birthday party, where she made her opinions known on erotic art and wine that tasted like dirt.

Ontiveros is survived by a husband and three children.
