Based on the true story of poet Mark O'Brien, Ben Lewin's The Sessions stars the always-entertaining John Hawkes as a 38-year-old whose polio has left him paralyzed and virginal. In the hopes of remedying that second point, Hawkes gets the religious approval of Daryl Hall-haired priest William H. Macy and hires a "sex surrogate" played by Helen Hunt, who is still an actress.
